Poplar Creek - in 83 this amphitheater was outdoors, located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, now it is the Sears Center and is an indoor fcility that hosts concerts and MMA events...anyhew, this is pretty strong couple of shows, no SBDs out there, but the auds are very listenable...these shows have always kind of slid by without much notice with more attention going to 06-18 and 06-20 and the late summer tour that steams into the October barnburners at MSG...although the set list I may lean towards the first night, the second night might be better playing wise with a rare Aiko encore, but don't fret, both nights are worth spinning...

Girlfriend and I drove out from NJ to catch these shows on the heels of the epic Saratoga show just a few days before. Great scene, some rain driving through Chicago and a nice set list - Cold Rain-Bucket-Sugaree to end 1st set on night One. Good Help On The Way 83 style, fast and furious. Sure miss jumping in the car on a Summer day and driving across country to catch a few shows. Gone Are The Days....

This was my first and only 'full' tour starting at Saratoga Springs, running through Wisconsin and MN and ending up at Poplar Creek. What made Poplar noteworthy was that it was a hometown show and I was therefore back to work. (They were Monday and Tuesday)
Having said that, it turns out that the Help /Slip/Franklins/Women/He's Gone sequence was the highlight of the whole run.
